The holidays were long and confining for me. I had not left the area since the last of October when I went to Kansas for my grandmother’s 100th birthday party. Finally, however, a couple of weeks ago all my duties were done for a while and so I was able to leave for a couple of days to go to the coast on a beautiful weekend. I left on a Thursday evening and was greeted by a beautiful sunset in Fulton, Texas.

The highlight of the trip for photography was Saturday. First a Juvenile Green Heron at Goose Island

And then a Roseate Spoonbill on the bay side of Mustang Island:

A Great Egret also at Mustang Island

And a couple of Blue Herons

And a “blonde hair white eyed” Pelican on the ferry ride back to Aransas Pass!

And besides bird watching and photography….. there’s always FISHING! Goose Island State Park’s pier is always a treat, especially at night. When the tide is out, wade fishing is always an option too!

There’s plenty of bait in the water….. at least the Red Heads think so!

Hoping for more free time in the near future for more writing and more adventures!
